Hi,

Is it possible to export a NX drawing to DWG in Scale 1:1?

I can only get the dwg in the scale that the views in the NX drawing are created.
This is a big problem because the measurements taken in the DWG are incorrect because the views are not in 1:1 scale.

Example: if Views are created in NX with Scale 1:10 then if I measure in AutoCAD the measurement is 10 times smaller than it should be.

Or are there any other solution to my problem?

I know that I could change the scale in NX or AutoCAD to 1:1, but this is not an option.

Using NX 8.5 and Teamcenter 9.

Thanks,

That's unfortunate because I'm pretty sure that changing the scale in NX or AutoCAD is the only real option to get what you want.

In the thread linked below, you will find a journal that automates the process to export dxf files at full scale. If dxf files are acceptable, perhaps you can use this journal "as-is". If you must have dwg files, then perhaps you can use the principles from this journal.

Yes, it’s really unfortunate. For this reason we have to scale the drawing sheets (instead of the model), i.e. opposite to the standard procedure, so that Machine shop don’t produce scaled parts. It’s very annoying and inefficient process to scale all the text and dimensions and other settings to suit to the scaled-up sheet.

It’s necessary to have an option in NX to select “the output scale” in the export/save as window.

Yes indeed. I dont see any benefits of exporting a NX drawing with the wrong scale?

Hopefully we will see an option where you can set the scale in the DWG/DXF wizard soon.

You prefer to model at other than full scale?

ewh, we are discussing about 2D drawings, not the models.

Drawing view creation gives the option to scale views. We are avoiding (because it's useless) that capability because Wire-EDM guys are using DXF files of 2D views. That is why other software offer DXF Output scale option.

That was what I thought, but what confused me was your mentioning models ("(instead of the model), i.e. opposite to the standard procedure") and seemed to say that your standard procedure is to scale the model.

Nevermind... a DWG/DXF scale option would be a useful enhancement.
