Hi,

I am wondering if this is possible. I would like to export a part sketch as a .dxf

I know that I can create a drawing of the part and export that drawing as .dxf, but I am specifically looking to export just the sketch that drives a certain feature, not the drawing of whole part.

TIA,
EDH

Import the DXF into Draftsight, crop the views to suit, re-save as DXF.

Thanks for the suggestion, that's a bit better than how I'm currently handling it. I'm doing something basically equivalent but the functionality questioned/requested would have been a nice time saver.

I don´t use it myself but i know there is a way to export a flat patterned sheetmetal part to dxf/dwg straight from the part.
maybe this is what you actually want to do? not an overall solution though

Can you create a configuration which is rolled back to the sketch and put that in your view?

I always create a drawing then save as DXF.
It also helps me track which pattern/version I saved as DXF.
Remember to make the drawing and view 1:1 scale.

You can enter Edit Sketch mode and select the geometry and use
CTRL+C CTRL+V to copy past into a drawing for DXF export.
