Has anyone had experience with Incoloy 803? I am looking for case histories or experience in High Temp 650C-750C carbonaceous gas environment. (Pyrolosis Furnace)

Particularly with post-service repairs / modifications on this material in the aged condition.

The alloy looks to be suitable for my application, wondering of issues others may have experienced.

Other material choices also welcome.

Thanks in advance for your comments

I don't have much history on 803, but I assume that you have had some conversations with Special Metals since it is something they developed. You might also contact Sandvik about their 35%Ni-25%Cr grade 353MA, which is similar. They do have some studies on 353MA tube materials used in ethylene furnaces.

Yes, we have been talking to SM and are aware of 353MA, I was looking for experience with 803 in the aged condition which there is not likely much of...

Thanke for your response.
