exhaust heat dissipation

I am trying to establish the energy (watts) dissipated by an exhaust system. This is to determine the air flow needed to dissipate that heat from an enclosure. I want to considre only the forced convection effects by using the formula:

Q(W)=h* area * (Tsurface - Tambiant)

where h is the convection coefficient.

known:

area of exhaust and temperatures(at surface and ambiant)

Need a good ball park figure for the forced convection coefficient h.

Hi ddace,

Can you please provide more specific details about your exhaust system eg. is on a car, stationary genset etc?

Physical dimensions eg. exhaust material, diameter, length etc.
