After embading an Execl table into a Microstation file, I am unable to open the MicroStation file again. Does any body has gone through such problem? or any body with an idea how I can get back the MicroStation file? That is all I want.

Thanks in advance

I'm afraid that I don't have an answer for you other than that I really hope you back your files up regularly. I will say that I've had much more success linking Excel files rather than embedding them. I played with the embeding first, and had some other problems with them. I have yet to have any difficulties with link, however.

That said, when you link, understand that once the link is established, you cannot resize or rotate the MS element. So I make sure that I have it the size that I want when I first bring it in, and if my file is rotated for some reason, I put the spreadsheet off to the side and self-reference it in.

Good Luck

I can't provide any info on the embedding process, since I have not tried it. I can however, suggest that you try running your .dgn file through EDG. EDG is a graphics editing routine provided with MicroStation. A good resource for learning about EDG is the link below.

EDG may be able to "clean" whatever anomoly is preventing you from opening your file. If you are already familiar with EDG, I apologize for insulting your intelligence.
