Excel formating text as Date ?

I am pasting textinfo from an xml-file into a cell but Excel interpetrates it as a date and that is not my intention ??
How to force cellformatinng in VBA ?

A simple thing would be to concatenate a single quote to the start of the text field.

You can also pre-format the cell before inserting the value. Use the Format property of the cell or range object. Try recording a macro to get you started. Here, I simply formatted cell F5 as Text.

    Range("F5").Select
    Selection.NumberFormat = "@"
