US Dept of EPA has a tank program, "TANKS 3.1" Also determine if a floating roof is required. Vapor pressure of 200 proof is 1.22 psia. 190 proof is 1.16 psia
It is require to know whether tank is closed or open top.
For a close tank ethanol loss can be calculated
based on tank filling rate , volume addition,
tank temp.,vent nozzle size , atm air temp and
wind velocity ,diffusivity of ethanol in air
from liq.surface.
WMS helped very much! Although my application was a dilute solution of ethanol in water, the Tank 3.1 program allowed me to estimate maximum loss from pure ethanol so that I had a number to show my environmental engineer. Thirty years after my last diffusion calculation, I needed a simple aid to answer a question. Thanks WMS.
