I am looking at packages SKM and ETAP packages. They have you buy in at various maximum bus counts for a project. SKM has 50,100,300,1000,2000,5000, and 12,000. I am thinking both of them try to sucker you in into buying too much. What is the bus count you have found at large facility? They try to scare you by saying you can't upgrade bus count later on.

If you can't explain it to a six year old, you don't understand it yourself.

With SKM or EasyPower, you can certainly upgrade later. I don't know about ETAP, but I can't imagine that you wouldn't be able to upsize later. 300 will handle most facilities. For large plants, 1000 buses is generally adequate. It somewhat depends on how many extra buses get added for modeling purposes. Also, you can break the facility down into smaller models to get around the limitation. Not ideal, but it can be done. I've seen some very creative things within a 50-bus limit.
