The equipment I have used for lift start was much more foregiving when crawling through pipe racks and covered with sweat. In many cases scratch start is used with a regular CC power source. If your reference to "procedure" is an ASME Sec IX WPS. The arc initiation method is not controlled. Upvote 0 Downvote
