Equation Editor MIA 2

I'm using WF4 build M120 on Windows 7. I'm trying to create a datum curve from an equation and can't get the equation editor to open.

Here's what I'm doing:
Insert --> Model Datum --> Curve
From Equation
Selecting a coordinate system
Cylindrical

Then nothing. Equation is listed as required. If I select it and then click Define, nothing happens (the "Required" changes very briefly to something else...I think maybe "Defining" but it's too fast to tell, and then back to "Required").

I have tried this same process on other computers and had no problem. I have tried this in other parts/assemblies on my computer and it doesn't work.

Is there a setting somewhere that I need to toggle? Is this a Windows 7 issue? Any ideas?

Thanks,
- Brian

It works without issue on my Windows 7 machine, without having to do anything. Sorry I can't be of help.

Check your config.pro setting for pro_editor_command. If it is set to something that is not loaded on your system just comment it out.

Or relation_file_editor may be set to protab (pro table) if the pro_editor_command is an existing location and there is some problem with Pro-Table.

The other config option to check is
NEW_RELATION_UI No. If that is set you'll see the age old Menu Manager which looks like this.

? RELATIONS
Add
Edit Rel
Show Rel
Evaluate
Sort Rel
Show Dim
Switch Dim

If that is set and the Relation File editor is set to pro table it does take a while to show but it will use protable instead of the default Notepad editor. Or it might open a CMD window C:\ dialog and a rel.ptd notepad window.

I've had cases where I've used other window-s and forgot to set them back to the Main screen. That can be fixed using Alt+Tab and Alt+Space+M to Move window or disabling extending onto other monitor. Because the old relation editor was on the Menu_Manager the
attach_menumanager and
menu manager_position settings may also need to be looked at.

pro_editor_command isn't set at all.

relation_file_editor was set to "protab" in config.sup

I set relation_file_editor to "editor" and reloaded ProE and now it works (shows up in Notepad)!

I thought I'd tried this before, but evidently I did something wrong.

Thanks for your help.
