Curve from Equation Issue

Hello all, I am having a problem with creating a curve from equation. When I select: curve, From Equation, Done, Select the desired Coordinate system, Cartesian, the text editor fails to open. A ansii window flashes very quickly stating that "the system cannot find the path specified"

I don't think this is a setting error as I've never had this issue in the past at previous positions.

Any help would be appreciated,
