Hi guys,
Any idea to bond between EPDM sheet and Stainless steel sheet . We found EPDM sheet can do surface treatment to get rough surface. Any recommend surface treatment for stainless Steel . Please share your thoughts.

Thank you very much for your time and help.

Sand blasting would be an obvious answer if the sheet has some thickness to it.

Tire cord wire is brass plated to get good adhesion to rubber.

Compositepro - the rubber compound needs cobalt naphthenate or similar mixed into it to help form the bond between the rubber and the brass plating.

Is it sheet? Cause your picture doesn't look like one.
I suggest if it was by compression molding process. Apply primer to the steel. Mold together with the rubber.

Interesting article Composite pro. It suggests that sulfur silanes may be a solution. As with all primers they must be applied while the surface is clean and chemically active. Solvent degrease, grit blast the metal, and bond.

Yes , Both SS and EPDM are sheet . And also it is a mass production part. So looking for a cost effective solution too.
Both sheet need to bond by adhesive.
