I don't know that you need to understand a massage. Just enjoy it. Here's to happy endings.

There cannot be a single source, since there are multiple disciplines and industries that contribute to any given area of specialization.

You should collect the ones you find and need and place them into your own reference document, particularly those that are obscure. This serves a further purpose in that any document that you may create in the future will most likely use acronyms, and you can incorporate your acronym list in your document appendices for the reader to use.

EPC acronym debate.
An owner uses a consultant to do front end design and detailed civil design for a power project. He then awards 3 contracts (say); Civil work, Main Plant A, Main Plant B. Consultant then manages the project, manages the interfaces ,reviews the design and supervises the construction. First question; what popular method in uses describes this mechanism?
Second; He (owner) wishes to appoint a single contracor ( eg Main Plant A) to take full responsibilty by subcontracting out Civil Works and Main Plant B). ie one contract awarded by owner. Main contractor would design and build based upon front end design work by the consultant. Consultant will review design and supervise the construction. Is this a classic EPC contract?
Owner is considering change to reduce his risk and reduce construction time.
