Envelopes in assemblies

Can an exsiting part/sub-assembly in an assembly model be changed to an envelope item without deleting it from the assembly model and re-inserting it as an envelope and remating again?

A PART can be an envelope, but not an ASSEMBLY.
And I agree with Tick... can't do it.

Back before "exclude from BOM" existed, I submitted a request to SolidWorks to add this functionallity. Still waiting.
