ASME Y 14.100 is a fine Standard, but it does not give the reader an understanding as to how, at a very high level, design documentation guides an organization in critical ways. It also does not get into efficient design document control methods very deeply. The best book, in my opinion, that gets into this deeply is "Documentation Control Handbook" by Frank Watts. Has anyone else read this book? If so, have you read a book that you would recommend over this book?

I've not read the book, but this isn't the first time I've heard about it. I'm leary of this sort of thing because most sitatutions are specific to the company or group. Maybe check amazon.com to see if someone has reviewed this book?
