Hi,

We've been asked by an existing client to perform an analysis of any energy savings as a result of an on-going curtain wall sealant replacement project. We propose to perform ASTM E783 air leakage testing before and after sealant repair to obtain a net air leakage reduction. We are, however, unclear as to the analysis required to convert the data obtained into a cost savings per kWh. Does anyone have any experience with this? Our usual MEP vendors have provided little input.

Thanks!

Is the air leaking into an air conditioned/heated space? If so, talk to a local mech. engr. PE who can do the calcs for the heating/cooling load caused by unintentional outside air leakage.
