Emulsion Polymerization Model 1

I am considering making a model to automate and expand our understanding of our semi-batch emulsion polymerization recipes/products. I'd like it to calculate in-process conversion, density, viscosity, heat capacity, thermal conductivity, heat transfer coefficients, and pressure. I plan to use it for optimization and "what ifs". I would like some opinions on whether to go at it empirically with lab data or with a theoretical dynamic model. Please state if you have experience with either one in latex reaction applications. my name's erny kusumawati, i'm from chemical engineering and i work with polymer. now, i do final project about polyacrylamide to flocculant. especially nonionic flocculant. but i don't more understood about emulsion polymerization. i uses sorbiton monooleat as emulsifier. my question is what's we do with sorbiton monooleat if i uses it to be emulsifier in inverse emulsion polymerization of acrylamide? it is important to open the micelle in finally process?

regarding your first post, I have developed some simplified dynamic model for emulsion polimerisation, which considers only some thermal & concentration effects. There is no prediction of latex properties. But it can be useful to simulate some basic moves, such as changes in monomer feedrate, temperature, controller gains, cooling water or steam supply, and gives to the plant operator some basic training.
