At this site there is a interesting aproach to use elliptical tube in finned coil exchangers.
It seem to gain in eficience.
My concern is how it shall be take the stress at its so shaped tubes.
Will it tend to get round , under the internal pressures ?
The internal pressure will be up to 25 BAR.
External presure is atmospheric.
