Hi,

I have an equipent for electropolishing of stainless steel (AISI 3014, 316) and I need cooling unit for cooling of electropolishing bath. What power of cooling unit is required if rectifier is 8 V / 3 000 A, please?

Thank you in adavnce..

Enrique

What does the rectifier have to do with it? Surely, you can measure the starting and ending temperature and the time it took to get a better estimate of the power going into the bath directly?

You need to think about duty cycle.
With our system the power is only on about 60% of the time, and some of the heat goes into the metal also.
We sized our system for about 66% of the electrical power input and it works fine.
If your duty cycle is higher you will need to go bigger.

Thanks a lot to all of you for your prompt responses! I was not just not sure, if there should not be calculated any additional heat arising from interaction with polished material or even chemical reaction.. Now, as I understand it is not necessary. Anyway, thank you once more!!
