I want to model a lead rubber bearing for a 3D non-linear analysis and I have a a few question about the "effective damping" for non-linear link element.

1- Does the effective damping in the Axial direction works in non-linear mode or do I have to add a second NLink in parallel to get damping?

2- Is the "damping coefficient" entered as a damping ratio (% of critical damping) ? the term they used and the few examples I could find online lead me to believe it's the damping ratio, but the introduction manual form CSI says " The effective
damping specifies dashpot-type damping; it is not a specification of percent critical damping."
