Does anyone know what effect beryllium has on the properties of Elgiloy? If yes, please provide source of information. I noticed that MB0170-44 calls out beryllium between 0.03-0.05 whereas AMS 5833 calls out 0.1max. What could be the consequence of relaxing to 0.1max?

Thanks

As you probably already know, this information does not exist in the public domain. You will need to contact Elgiloy directly.

You might see if you can find the original patent for Elgiloy, and see what they say for the Be requirement.

Nowadays Be is <0.03wt%. Above 0.05 and up to 0.1wt%, the ductility can decrease from 1.5% to 0.5%.
