I have noticed a new feature in Solidworks 2008 that makes it necessary to delete a line, dimension, etc. in a sketch twice before it goes away. Is this something a bored SW Engineer came up with to add unecessary work? Does anyone know how to undo this annoyance? I have looked in the most obvious places for a checkbox to unclick.

this does not seem right.

does it always happen?

maybe it is a graphics problem. what happens if you delete once and then press CTRL-R?

What SP of SW2008 are you using? I noticed this with the early SP's, on occasion, on my work computer but not my laptop computer.

I am using SP3.1 and 4.0 now and do not notice that behavior.

Cheers,

On the first delete, does the entity become highlighted?
Does it disappear and then re-appear?

I had a similar problem a while back. Had to select things twice before they were recognised as being selected. Uninstalling and reinstalling the mouse driver fixed the problem.

Have you tried Tools > Options > Document Properties tab > Detailing and un-check the annoyance checkbox?

this doesnt seem normal. check that you have the latest SP as well as up to date drivers.

You may be getting prompted by an invisible pop-behind dialog window telling you there are Dimensions/Relations tied to the entity when you go to delete it. Delete the entity then minimize restore you SW window. Another thing to check is that the Delete key is still set to Delete and hasn't been cleared out by mistake.

I am using 2008 2.1. In a sketch with multiple lines, some delete the first time and some on the second delete. When it takes two times, the line changes to green first and then go away on the second delete.
