Does anyone have any tricks on how to model 2 project grid layouts in the same model. Ram allows you to display many different layouts, and I wonder if there is a way to do this in Risa Floor that I don't know about.

I usually use the Drawing Grid as my second grid, but I usually have trouble recovering that, and plus the columns don't attatch.

The drawing grid is the way to do it.... with the unfortunate limitations that you mentioned.

This comes up frequently enough that one of our support engineers (who has experience with other programs treatment of project grids) is supposed to write up a spec on improving the RISA grid to be more flexible and powerful.

We are totally open to suggestions on this as we have not yet finalized this spec or started programming this revisions. So, if you have any specific requirements for how you want to use it, just let us know.

The spreadsheet input is easy and very fast, much faster than RAM. Some things I like about RAM's grid is the flexibility to...

1) Determine which grid systems are active and visible on each floors
2) Control the angle and location of the grid system
3) Control the extents of each individual gridline since some gridlines are used across the entire length of the building.
