Need info on drill type, speed, pilot size drill for a 3/4 in. Hole drilled through a flange at 90 deg. To flange face for a pressure tap. Thickness of flange is 6 in. Concern about chips and wear on drill. Also suggest coolant type and rate.

Do you need a hole that big just to sense the pressure?

How many of these holes and on what type of machine? Are there any other parameters that you are concerned about?

Here is what I would use.

Drill Kennametal Dynapoint with thru coolant. Kennametal Catalog # K210A07500HP
Speed / Feed 270 SFM and .010 IPR

This Sir is all you will need for tooling. Do not spot drill for the hole just drill it.
