Drawing Layers

This is a little bit of a cross-forum question, but I'm having issues with seeing layers from a dxf I created in SW in a particular CAM software (Surfcam). The dxf has to be converted to be opened in Surfcam since it doesn't support dxf (to my knowledge). I haven't worked much with CAM software packages; so, forgive my lack of knowledge in that area.


I create the original drawing in Solidworks and create the different layers. I save it as a dxf and open the dxf in DwgEditor and the layers are there. However, when the same dxf file is opened/converted in surfcam, the layers aren't there.

Any ideas or suggestions?

I don't know SurfCAM, but it seems it probably doesn't support the layers.
