Loosing my mind over this, is it possible to set viewport opacity so that when you inset one viewport over another it blocks what's underneath? I used to fake this with a white solid hatch under the viewport, but it now appears impossible to send the hatch under the viewport. Any assistance is appreaciated.

I can't help with viewport opacity, but I discovered the mask command awhile back and have been using it for that purpose.
