DraftSight unable to open a .dwg 1

I used Autodesk Inventor LT Task Scheduler to convert a .idw to a .dwg, and then attempted to open the .dwg using DraftSight, assuming it would work as it usually does. However, DraftSight gave me an error: "This version of drawing file is not supported" "Unable to open file". Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this?

If system information is relevant, this is running the latest version of DraftSight, on a Windows XP Professional 32 bit system. Let me know if I can provide any more relevant information.

I don't know if draftsight is always able to open the latest file format from Autodesk, maybe they are a version behind because of the programming required!

I'm just guessing here though.

You were right, I tired saving as a Autocad 2010 .dwg, of all things, and draftsight was able to handle that. Anything after 2010 seems to be incompatible with draftsight. Thanks!
