Dowel Pin Groove when inserted parallel to plate

Hello,

I need to insert dowel pins into a plate parallel to the surface of the plate to provide a surface for a roller ball to slide on.
Does anyone know where i can find a suggested slot for doing this for a 3/32 x 3/8" long dowel pin?
