double nut requirement. 3

can we use half nut for the second nut of the anchor bolt? anchor bolt projection is not enough to compensate the full double nut.

Post your question in forum507. Anchor bolts are not in the scope of pressure vessel codes.
 
The first nut takes all of the load and the 2nd nut is basically a safety issue. You could also gall the threads to keep the first nut from backing off, but then you would have difficulty removing the 1st nut if the boiler had to be moved. You might review the AISC code as I don't think that they require a 2nd nut.

Is this an issue of vibration of the boiler or a seismic anchorage issue?
