Hello there,

I am a new MSC/NASTRAN user (formerly ANSYS, sigh .... :-))

I have to make numerous minor modifications to a huge model (our customer requested that), and recompute its dynamic behaviour for each new version.

Thus I would like to use the "Craig Bampton" substructuring method in order to avoid recomputing the whole structure at each iteration.

Unfortunately, I did not find this method in the Nastran "Basic Dynamic Analysis" nor in the "Advanced Dynamic Analysis" Guides.

So where is this HIDDEN ?

Is this the same as Component Mode Synthesis? If true, can anyone help me getting started with it (I found the theoretical background, but there is a lack of examples).

Nicolas
