Do I need mold design to do this design or can it be done without it.

I've attached a sketch so you can see what I'm looking to do. My problem is that I don't know where to start and if I need Mold Design to accomplish this. Take a look at it and let me know what you think and perhaps give me some direction on how to get it going.

Thanks to all who look.

Hi,

it seems to be an converted ACAD drawing. The draft is in V18
format. I think, however that the import is not done correctly.
The original drawing is metric with inch diemsions in [], but the
conversion is done by leaving the units setting at inch and thus a
dimension of 77.40mm when redone will show 77.40" instead of 3.05"

It seems to be a complex part which might justify MoldDesign
but I'm not in that business so I may be wrong

swertel,

I can see what I can do as far as posting this as a pdf. I'm not at my home office and don't know what they have here to get that done.

donyoung,

I guess that's what I was getting at... I really wanted to know if this piece warranted the use of the mold design. It is extremely complex although I think a Solid Edge user with more experience than I could probably figure it out. I need to let my higher-ups know if I can do this with an add on purchase or if it's simply easier to out source it to a mold company.

You are right, I took a metric AutoCAD file and imported it into Solid Edge. I figured the scale didn't matter much at this point so went ahead and posted it. The drawings I got (AutoCAD) are not the best either. Seems like you would need more than this to build a mold to begin with but apparently they are doing it out there today so the crappy drawings aren't holding them up any...

Does anyone know if I can get my hands on a trial version of the mold design to see if it will be what I might need?

Thanks guys!
