Disable Model changes in drawings - SW04 6

I should clarify that this option can also be found under:

Start\Run\regedit - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\SolidWorks\SolidWorks 2004\General - "Disable model changes from drawings"

Bradley,

This cannot be hacked in the Registry. That's because that option is a per session option. In the registry it's either "Yes" or "No". Where as that option is a "Yes" or "No", but it's per session. So it's not written in the registry directly. It would be saved in SW per session.

Wait a sec there Scott, what, per session? So does that mean if I am in a multi-user environment and they restart the computer, then that option is re-enabled back to Yes the drawing affects the original models?

This is over a year old....? I will try and help you out, but I don't have the time to sit down and read this enitre thread over.

Per session above looks like it means when a session of SW is opened.

I would say yes that is right, unless you change it per the registry path above.

I think the "Per Session" was dealing with the...

"Models In The Assembly Have Changed."

...Dialog, which is just a stupid notification, and should have never been created...
(It's in my "Duh!" List of annoying dialog boxes)
...which can only be turned off "Per Session"

The drawing/model changes should be permanent...

And per session means, as long as you have a running session...
Forget turning off your PC, if SW crashes, and you restart the program, the dialog box starts popping up again...
Not Like That Has Ever Happend Before... :-/

Unfortunatley, I have moved to Phoenix and Changed jobs...
So now I get to Fight AutoCAD, instead of dealing with SW's annoyances...
(AutoCAD's 3D SuX... I miss that dialog ;-)

When dealing with computers, there are 10 things you need to know: one, zero, and the rest is Binary.
