In this thread JohnrBaker mentioned how to simply get the arrows of a dimension in drafting outside.

When I tap the dimension, I see the little popup, but there's not the "in/out"option.
Do I have to activate it somewhere or how to add it in that popup? I can 't customize it with RMB
Thank you.

When you pause, and the little wrench icon appears, click it and you should see small boxes on different areas of the entire dimension - click the one near the arrow.

I found the setting, but is this setting also available in Customer defaults? Can't find it there, not even with the search option.

Now I have to activate the setting with every dimension where I want to change the arrows to outside.

While in the Drafting module, go to...

File -> Preferences -> Drafting -> Common -> Line/Arrow -> Arrowhead

...and in the section of the dialog labeled 'Leaders and Dimension Side 1' you'll find the 'Orientation' option of 'IN' or 'Out'. Just set what you want and hit OK and you're good to go, at least while working on that particular Drawing, even if you switch to a different Drawing and then back to the original one, the settings will not have been changed. And that even goes for when you Save the Drawing and open it again in a future session of NX, the 'Orientation' setting for the Arrowheadss will still be set to what they were.

Thank you.
I'll have an addition to this answer: Do this in the template file, save it and this setting will always be applied.
