Hello,

Can someone explain to me the differences between EN-AW 5080R & EN-AW 5083R?
Also, what does the 'R' stand for.
I know that 5083 is used in corrosive environments, does this feature also apply for the 5080?

Thanks in advance.

Tanks, that solves the R part. But what if there would be an S instead of an R, EN-AW 5080S?

And there is also a part 2 to this question, something about corrosion on the 5083, but I'll get to that later.

I have never seen an S used as part of the designation for an aluminum alloy.
