I'm trying to find out the difference between A-182 and A-265 316 SS. The application will be 3/8" x .095 mwt steam sample lines at 1000 deg. The chemical composition seems to be similar. I would like to know if the A-182 would be suitable for the application. Any help would be great!

A265 must be a typo, what spec did you mean to say?

You are correct, i didn't catch that. It should be A-269 SS

Yes, ASTM A 182 Standard Specification for Forged or Rolled Alloy-Steel Pipe Flanges, Forged Fittings,
and Valves and Parts for High-Temperature Service, so this is permitted for steam service.
