I was doing dielectric strength test with Associated Research Inc. Hypot Jr 4030A.
I set to 500V and 5000 microA, I got a leakage current 1100 microA. As I turned the A range to 500 microA, without touching anything else, I got 350 microA. (not over shooting!!)
The instrument is 3% accuracy. I could not explain the difference.
I used/tested an one megohm resistor, I got 500 and 470 microA when 5000 and 500 microA range were selected.
What is wrong with my test?
Thanks.
