We are constructing Diaphragm Wall for construction of Underground Station box by Top-Down sequences.Recently the client has proposed Diaphragm Wall Panel load test on 1 in every 400m.I found that you have conducted load tests on panels for previous projects as per case studies. Please provide some suitable references for load test on Diaphragm Panel mentioning the procedure in brief.

Your earlier response is most welcome,

Never seen a load test on a diaphragm wall panel unless you mean a barrette.

What kind of test does your client intend to perform. A vertical load test for a subway station doesn't make sense : vertical loads are not high enough in relation with the area of the bottom of the panels.

For lateral loads, you usually test the ground anchors but not the wall.

I am afraid you are in front of a client without any knowledge of diaphragm walls and/or retaining structures. You would be better off explaining him why he doesn't need what he wants !
