Hi,
I'm looking for ways on how to detect delamination effect of a clear silicone rubber layer adhered to a white color surface. Can anyone shed some light here? Thanks!

Best regards,
ct

What is the white color surface?

Cloa: It's a type of ceramic.

If you can test from the ceramic side, you can use ultrasonic testing. The silicone rubber will act like a couplant and show a longer wave length of the ultrasonic wave. If you hit a delaminated spot, it will shorten the wave length.

No standards for this...you'll just have to try it and "calibrate" to actual observations.

Thank you very much Ron. Happy new year!

limct...thanks, Happy New Year.

Also, if the piece is large enough, you could use a small vacuum box or tube and apply a vacuum to the silicone rubber. Delaminated areas will lift up slightly.

Thanks Unclesyd.
