Desktop Search - Is it a problem with SW

I seem to remember being told not to install desktop search in a previous version of SW, is this still the case with SW2008? Does it cause any performance issues?

It just dissects your files... if you don't want it to do that you still have to install it... You just need to disable the service under your Services menu.
