Design of Scupper Drain for Swimming Pool

Dear All,

I have another question. For the scupper drain at swimming pool, what is the design step for it? It will be the same design stap as when we design for normal drain, correct?

The few scupper drains with which I am familiar have removable plates in the deck proper so that with the plate removed, a suction hose can be easily inserted through the deck, through the scupper channel, and into the scupper drain, for vacuuming the pool.

The scupper drain and the bottom drain are also valved independently at the filter so the pump suction can be routed to either one or both.

That's pretty much all I know about pool plumbing. It sounds like you need a more comprehensive and authoritative source, like a book, real soon.
