Can anybody lead me to a good reference for design of headed anchor bolts in reinforced concrete piers? Thank you.

PCA notes on ACI318.

Never, but never question engineer's judgement

ACI Appendix D, its all in there.

KBVT- My loads are much greater than what I can accomplish with an unreinforced concrete. I need to transfer my loads from my anchor bolts into my steel change of my concrete pier.

In Appendix D of ACI 318-05 there is little guidance with respect to dealing with supplementary reinforcement (strength provided by shear friction)

318-08 will have guidance on this. It's worth getting 318-08 just for that section.
