Hi,

Can anyone tell me the difference between the Design Moments (Top/Bottom) and the Maximum/Minimum Moments.

When looking at the analysis results tables I realized that the maximum/minimum moments (from the strip forces table) is about 35%-50% less than the design moments (from the flexural and shear data table). Both are strip based and correspond to the same load combination. I thought maybe the strip forces table was using service loads but that is not the case. Thanks for your help.

Thank you!
Lisette

P.S. I am using SAFE version 12.3.0 and am designing a two-way slab with design strips in both directions.

The design moments are probably taking into account the twisting moment Mxy, by adding it in with the wood-armer method.

thank you handex! that is the exact answer we just figured out over here.
