Hello every one,
The exchange tube bundle was found with one tube has been damaged; seems to be during handling & transportation; two dents has been observed. NDT LPI "liquid penetrate Inspection” was conducted and showed no indication of cracking. Impact area caused a dent within damaged area measuring ~ 10mm long x 7mm wide x 1.7mm deep. At the impact point pipe section became out of round and the dents bend containing a scratch, gouge, or groove.
However, our construction code is ASME B31.3 process piping and there is no recommendation for this case. Can I apply ASME B31.4 code or ASME B31.8 recommendations??!!

I prefer this tube to be plugged.

Your comments suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Zayed

If no cracks are present I would leave it alone. You can plug them but I think it is not necessary.

A scratch or gouge or a sharp dent would worry me. I would plug in that case.
If it is just a dent, don't worry.
