Hallo. I am a beginner at Abaqus and I must finish a project for work.
Please bear with my for the too many questions.

My question concerns the definition of steps. I want to simulate the loads acting on a mast of the vessel. I must define weight forces and acceleration forces due to movement of the vessel itself.

The weight forces during the whole analysis should be constant. Nevertheless the acceleration forces could be ramped.

Do I have to define two different steps? And if yes, what kind of parameters should I use?

Thanks in advance.

For purposes of assessment between dead loads and live loads, I'd separate the loads into two steps and then combine them in Viewer. For weight, use gravity load and make sure you have density defined. For live loads you can specify that the load is to be ramped, if that's what you want.
