Hi

I am relatively new in dealing with abaqus. I need to define a tied contact between one analytical rigid and a deformable surface. I would like to do it, if possible, through ABAQUS/Cae, because then I'm sure everything will be in the correct position in the input deck, with no missing or conflicting details. Has someone any idea about how to do this (which of the options shown under 'Interaction Module' are the ones used with this purpose, if some)?

I tried first with the *tie (as a constraint). The problem is that with a *tie constraint I cannot release the tied points any more, and this is required to my model (a draw bend test with posterior tensile stretching and displacement).

You can try using contact surfaces. Contact interactions can be modified or deactivated at the step level.

Also you can try using MPC subroutine, which is a user subroutine for defining multi-point constraints.
