I am working for a company that does system integration of audio/video systems. When I create block diagrams showing signal flow, I would like to be able to insert my standard blocks and have pertinent information, such as connector types, electrical information, and wire types accumulated "someplace" in AutoCAD. Later, I would like to query AutoCAD for a total list of those characteristics to be more accurate with job preparation prior to installation.

Can the dB Connect Manager/commands be used to create such a database in AutoCAD or am I misunderstanding the use of this command set?

I am using ACAD 2004, BTW.

Thanks

You will need to program your own routines to query/store your info to a db if that is what you want. You can also store the info with your blocks as attributes and then query the blocks with your own routines within AutoCAD.
