cutting through sheetmetal with an image

I am trying to use an image of say an animal to create a cut in sheetmetal. Then, I want to export the dxf to a plasma cutter and cut the profile. Any ideas of a good way to do this, and what formats to use?

Try to save the animal image outline as a DXF, then import the section to ProE (in the sketcher mode of the feature).
