Has anyone tried cutting copper with a co2 laser? I have a 1500 Mazak STX510 and a customer that wants gaskets out of .004" copper. I know that I will have a major problem with reflectivity...but is there anything wlse that I need to worry about? Also, if anyone happens to have cut conditions...that would really help. Thanks.

I just finished cutting 1mm copper on a baliu LC 1500 OG/RTX with a PRC 3.5kW laser.
The parameters that I used are:
Pierce: 1350watts (super pulse) 900Hz 55%duty 2bar O2
Feedrate: 1800watts (Gated pulse) 785mm/min 2000Hz 97%duty cycle 6-8bar O2.

The focal point was about a mm below the material. Just be carefull.
