hi all.

I need to ask two questions. first, is it possible to create a drawing file whose base view IS a cutaway view? (I assume in can just place the base view outside of the sheet and print it that way, if I need to) I also need to be able to select certain items to cut away. Specifically, I have an assembly that has a cylindrical outter shell with various components inside that I want to annotate,
so I wanna slice through the shell and display almost all the other stuff as solid. How do i do that? The help files aren't very ... helpful.

thanks,

Bruno

1. As far as I know, there is no way to create a cut view as a standalone base view.

2. Once you have created the section view, expand the assembly for the section in your model tree. RMB the parts that are sectioned that you wish not to be and uncheck "section".
