Custom materials

I am trying to create a custom material in solidworks. The book "Inside Solidworks" does not help.





I have all the values for the material (Balsa) but whereever I enter it in the edit/create materials not all of my values have a place to go. Same as in with cosmos.

I've experienced this also.


What values do you have that the material database is not asking for? It may be that some of these values are not needed for the various analysis.


You can directly edit the text file- I would suggest making a backup copy first. Find where your material database is (I'm not sure where the default is, we have ours shared on the network); it's a file ending in .sldmat > right click > Edit
